 Tenerife in spring

Tenerife in spring
LOCATED near the equator in Africa, Tenerife is one of the ideal places to visit in spring especially that all elementary, high school and college students here in Salamanca and the rest of the country are enjoying their vacation. To the kids who are not yet familiar to the place, Tenerife is very far away since it is located in Africa but it is a territory of Spain. So residents there are speaking Spanish and it is a popular getaway by Europeans especially the Spaniards. Thus, there are daily flights there available not just emanating from Madrid but in key cities in the country such as Barcelona and Valencia City. But Tenerife is just one of the islands that Spain owns off the coast of the Horn of Africa. There are other islands as well such as Las Palmas which is the capital of the archipelago called Gran Canaria, otherwise known by English-speaking travelers as Las Palmas Gran Canaria.

Sure enough, there are lots of English-speaking travelers here in Tenerife during spring. But it’s not just the English-speaking folks who are fascinated with Tenerife. There are also lots of Italian and Belgian visitors in here. For it is not just the spring scenes that are superb here in Tenerife, virtually all consumer goods here are duty-free. They don’t impose VAT in here that’s why air fare as well as jet lag can really compensate for what you can buy in here – from signature bags to designer shoes and perfume. Even if Tenerife is mostly rural, there are selected boutiques in areas near Reina Sofia International Airport.

Some of the yummy foods served in Tenerife dining tables aside from the obvious seafood of course are black potatoes dipped in delicious natively-concocted sauce, potato omelet and squid. You can have banana-based rum because it is available here too. Actually, bananas comprise one of the most prolific agricultural produce here along with olives so there are plenty of olives here too. Back home in England, if you are whining that olive oil costs that much at the local grocery, here in Tenerife, they are almost virtually giving it for free.

Another hot destination here in Tenerife is the Lunar Landscape. It is one unique destination because the landscape here really resembles that of the moon. This has since been converted to a very productive tourist magnet.
